Lizbeth, the Little Lost Golf Ball

A delightful picture book for children ages 3–8. It follows Lizbeth, a bright pink golf ball, as she embarks on her first adventure after being chosen by junior golfer JoJo. Along the way, Lizbeth meets friendly characters like Putter Pete, Frida Flag, and Claude Cup, who introduce her to the game of golf. When Lizbeth accidentally lands in a pond, she meets Teddy, a wise golf ball, and Genji Gator. With their support, Lizbeth learns that hope, kindness, and friendship can help you find your way home.

CHILDREN'S BOOK AUTHOR, SPEAKER

Janice Nissen wrote her first children’s book to capture the magic, resilience, and life lessons found on the golf course. She hopes that it will inspire young children to pursue the sport that is about self improvement, meaningful relationships, and enjoyment of the outdoors.

Fun and creative way to introduce kids to the game!

“Lizbeth the Little Lost Golf Ball is a wonderful children’s book that uses the game of golf to teach lessons about resilience, friendship, and belonging. As a PGA Professional, I love seeing stories like this that introduce kids to the values and joy of the game in a fun and imaginative way. Lizbeth’s journey reminds us that golf isn’t just about hitting shots—it’s about the adventures, connections, and life lessons we find along the way.” – Kevin Duffy, PGA Pro

“I am not a golfer, but if this book were read to me or I read this book, ‘Lizbeth’ would have sparked my interest to try golf. ‘JoJo’ shows a passion for the game, which motivates her to practice and improve her skills. And I loved the questions that ‘Lizbeth’ asks, this was perfect for teaching golf terms in a way that anyone would understand. It was so natural, because this is how children learn, through questions.

“Great book. My granddaughter loved the story and illustrations. A nice way to introduce a young person to the game, or to reinforce how much fun it is. I liked the lessons brought forth in this book: patience, friendship, continuous improvement, and never losing hope. As the story unfolds, it is great to see the evolution of Lizbeth becoming more confident as her experiences and the support from her whimsical friends shape her attitude.”
